Another lovely day

More fun with cousins, and yes they eat a lot!
Abby's first twinkie.

Abby really loved the pony rides.

Dear Utah,

You are a completely beautiful state! I am finding myself appreciating you much more than I usually do. David assures me my new found appreciation is only because it is May. Even still, I think I have been too hard on you. Sorry Utah, I still love you, here's why:
1. I seriously can't get enough of all these friendly, and helpful people. After flying from Newark to Las Vegas (big jerks) I almost cried tears of joys to get on the St. George shuttle. All the people, especially the driver were EXTREMELY helpful and friendly! No one even complained that we first made the shuttle late, and then had to stop for a potty break as we were entering the Gorge. These strangers buckeled in my kids car seats, and assured me they had all been there. It was a seriously love fest. Thank you nice people!!!!!
2. I have recently realized most of my favorite people are from Utah, or their parents are.
3. Utah camping is really fantastic!!!
4. I have this strange feeling of belonging here.
5. I went to a Wal-Mart here and it didn't suck! I was a little weirded out by all the long shorts, babies, and blonde hair, until I considered that I look just like them. Huh, I guess these ARE my people.

Peter refused to be organized by birth order, he just kept saying, "I want to be number one!"

Very Bad squirell

Anyone have any suggestions on how to prevent squirrels from eating our barbecue?

Happy Father's Day

Dear Dad,

Happy Father's Day to the toughest...
strongest...

handiest...

Guy I know, who isn't afraid to hold a baby...
ride a tricycle...
attend a tea party...

lend a girl your jacket.

Thanks for teaching us the meaning of the word "pull"...

and for letting us pick wildflowers (just not too many.)
Thanks for the all games of pooh sticks...

and for always stopping for a ride on the gate...

...no matter the weather.

Thanks for fixing that deck before any one got hurt...
...And for shielding me behind that tree when it finally had to come down.

Thanks for walking away when we got unruly...
...and for setting us straight when needed.

Thanks for being able and willing to build anything big, or small, with style.

Thanks for being the kind of Dad any kid could count on.

Thanks for the camp outs...

...and thanks for always packing more than your share.
Thanks for teaching us to appreciate nature, and to leave things better than we found them.

Thanks for the trips to the farm...
the trips to the lake...

...and the scuba trips (karaoke bars and all.)
Thanks for letting the girls in on the hunt, and thanks for not actually killing anything while we were there.

Thanks for teaching us ski (water and snow)...

...and to row.

Thanks for taking us on the longest "seven mile" trip ever...
...and for being the kind of Dad, I knew could never possibly drive us off the side of the honeymoon trail, even though we were all a little nervous about it.

Thanks for teaching me to jump off cliffs, and always double checking to make sure I tried the rope the right way (especially that time that I didn't)...
Thanks for carrying me to bed after a long trip, even when you knew I was only pretending to be asleep.

Thanks for watching the logging channel, and never shirking from a challenge.

Thanks for being a great example...
Thanks for the long chats, and the sometimes longer lulls. Thanks for the bike rides, and for being an expert at removing slivers. Thanks for always taking the time, and having the patience, to untangle my hair from carabiners and vacuum cleaners alike ( I know you always had a Swiss army knife in your pocket that could have gotten the job done quicker.) Thanks for all these memories and for a thousand others.

I love you Dad!
Happy Father's Day
