Did I mention we went to the Pageant?

In July we went to see the Hill Cumorah pageant. We had a very low tech trip. The air conditioning was broken, the cruise control was broken, and we used an Atlas (a paper one), and we camped! Our first stop was at the Smith farm in Palmyra. Once we got there our low-tech, didn't seem so low-tech after all. The farm was lovely, and as the sun was setting a beam of light shone through the Sacred Grove. It was a Sunday evening and we were alone in the grove. There was a feeling of peace there that reverenced our two rambunctious children straight from a very long drive. It was a place of peace and a place of power.

What about Midlothian?

I think I have finally settled on a place to live (as always, my decisions are subject to change). I would like to move here! I found this lovely home in Virginia. David and I think that Virginia may have all the things we love about Connecticut (e.g. seasons, history, good architecture, and good educational and cultural opportunities) without the things we do not love about Connecticut (e.g. very high cost of living, enormous rich/poor gap, snootiness, extreme cold, and poor customer service).

We are below the 2 year mark and are now counting down months, that is 22 if you ignore next week, which I am. I really go back and forth on trying to live in the moment and appreciate every day of my life, and trying to escape into my dreams of the future. I do long to be able to park in a garage attached to my house.

I am really grateful for having amazing friends here, and am in no hurry to leave them. Thank you to those of you who have helped me survive this insane week!

What do you think, Virginia?

Things that go BOOM!

Toaster Plus lighter
Plus 34 inches of pure mischief.

Equals a very large BOOM!
Meet Miss Aidoo: her interests include dressing herself multiple time a day, sleeping with shoes on, dressing her baby, roaring like a dinosaur, insisting all her injuries are the direct result of "Dinosaurs hoouting" her, chemical ingestions, singing, walking on point, having her toes painted, wearing tutus, and most recently pyrotechnics!
