More Christmas projects

It is a good thing I started in September, so I had plenty of time to procrastinate.

Merry Christmas

This is us the Christmas tree lighting before Abby tried to pull Santa's beard off. Peter asked Santa for a Thomas water tank. Peter thinks everyone gets one present for Christmas .Here is Miss Abigail in her accessorizing glory. She really is all about hats and boots, and purses, and bows and... I know it is a little much sometimes, but it makes her really happy.

I have finally started completing some of my many Christmas projects. Peter thinks that you can make anything with a sewing machine. He will sit at the sewing machine and say things like, "Mommy can you mae me a dinosaur?" He also wants to have "projects" of his own.

This is the bed for Abby's Bitty Baby (don't tell Abby.) I am making a larger version of the same quilt for Abby's bed. I have decided that I do not have the soul of a true quilter. I am just not a perfectionist. Also I don't always do things the "right" way . My sister actually called me "ghetto" once for not changing my bobbin thread to the matching color of the top thread when I switched projects. So anyway... I got this crib in Utah, and my sister taught me about glazing. (The color really is more uniform than pictured, the flash just made that corner look bright, I don't want anyone else to call me ghetto.)This is Abby's Christmas dress, one for her baby is in the works. I found the fabric in Soho with my Mom.
This is a really sad picture of Peter, but I still thought it was kind of funny. He has been kinda dramatic lately. We were taking cinnamon rolls to our neighbors and Peter decided we had to go to Annusha's house, which is usually a 45 second walk. This is Peter on the extra long walk after he learned we were not staying to play with Annusha. He does this pretty much any time he has to leave his friends, or his friends leave our house. I totally didn't expect this much friend drama until the teenage years.

IT is hard to contain the excitement! Ohio State is going to the National Championship game again. Mark your calenders for Jan. 7th.

I want to make buckeye garlands for the Christmas tree, but buckeyes are hard to come by in the nutmeg state.

I thought I would share the joy by sharing the buckeye candy recipe. David actually made celebratory buckeyes today. This is a first for him. We usually only make them on game day, or if a buckeye is up for a heisman, but this was pretty exciting. Sorry to all those USC fans, but it looks like you will have to wait until September to hear the best darn band in the land.

3/4 Cup Peanut Butter
1/4 Cup butter
1/2 tsp vanilla
2 cups powdered sugar

Chocolate for dipping

Combine ingredients, shape in small balls, then dip in melted chocolate.
